Who will be the next Rukiga District Chairperson LCV, As Politics of Identity, Sectarianism, Patrony, and Money Rock the District.

After the LC5 chairman made a public declaration to support the incumbent woman mp , the opponent received it with rage and has decided to front Simon Mutebi Rwamagyenda to not only neutralise the incumbent Chairman Mbabazi Robert Kakwerere with whom they share a sub county but to also use him as a mobilizer since Rwamagyenda had previously contested for mp and knows most corners of the District. The seat for LC5 seems to be gaining more momentum, with the other three youthful guys showing interest;

1. Mbabazi Robert Kakwerere is incumbent, NRM and is largely sponsored by Caroline Kamusiime the reigning mp. She helped her stealthily win over Micheal Mbareba Owengoga in the previous elections and so the two seem very inseparable

2. Simon Mutebi Rwamangyenda is the newest kid on the blocker under the sponsorship of Dr. Sylvia and encouraged by some members of the Anglican Church who think that with all the support Sylvia has offered, a Chairman directly fighting her would be a de-service to them. They are all out to destroy the incumbent.

3. Asiimwe Jackson Rwamwehare. He is more senior but such a poor mobilizer who even finds it hard to win at his own village. Rwamwehare is NRM, a former RDC. He has declared his interests.

4. Samuel Niwandinda, is the current Vice Chairman LC 5 whose desire is all out to those that closely associate with him, but being on job which he wouldn’t love to lose as yet keeps his mouth shut for now. The old adage of the hyena and a hot stone…ncwere ncwere obunuzi, mire mire omuriro is in play…

5. Oscar Akampuria, this one is also Caroline Kamusiime’s blue eyed boy who runs Kamusiime’s school in Muhanga as a shadow director, he would so much love to contest but his boss already has a candidate in Kakwerere, this leaves him in a paradox. To lose both a job and a friend in the mp. Oscar is also Speaker of the District Council and is said to be doing well.

6. Nelson Atwongyeire wa Black from kitanga, Kashambya contemplates about the same everyday, shares with friends but his biggest fear is whether his boss, Roland Bish will bankroll him to help him launch his campaigns. He is currently in Kampala working on the Mps assignments, we have seen him on several occasions run to the village with the mp.

7. Micheal Mbareeba Kwarikunda alias Owengoga is the FDC Chairman of Rukiga, a former vice chairperson , former contestant who is rumoured to be weighing on whether to come as FDC or Independent.
