The construction of the new St. Andrews Church of Uganda Parish church has officially been launched today by the Archdeacon of All Saints Church Archdeaconry, Ven. Namanya Emmanuel Bwagye.

The project, which is expected to cost 2.8 billion Ugandan shillings, was launched in Nyabikoni Ward, Central Division, Kabale Municipality.

During the launch ceremony, Ven. Namanya called on the Christians to work collaboratively to ensure the successful completion of the church. He emphasized the importance of unity, transparency, and accountability in managing the project’s funds, urging the building committee to uphold these principles for the smooth running of the construction process.

Ven. Namanya added that transparency and accountability help build trust among the Christians and enable them to complete the project with integrity.

He further encouraged Christians to keep God at the center of all their efforts, reminding them that God is the foundation stone for every development.

Speaking to our reporter, Eng. Peter Nkurunungi, the CEO of Geses Uganda and the project’s lead contractor, explained that the construction will be carried out in three phases. He highlighted that the first phase will involve the shrub level that will cost 540 million Ugandan shillings, a process expected to take up to six months.
