Usher Bennets Lewis Wins UCU-BBUC 2024-25 Guild Elections with a Margin of 14 Votes in a Contest of Three (3) Giant Education Students.
Usher Bennets Lewis wins the 2024-25 Uganda Christian University-Bishop Barham University College, Kabale, UCU-BBUC GUILD Elections with a margin of 14 Votes Over the First Runners Derrick Akampa in a Contest of Giant Education Students.
Usher Bennets Lewis won the Today’s Elections with a total of 176 Votes with a percentage of 39% where Derrick Akampa became the first Runner’s Up with a total number of 162 Votes with a percentage of 36% while Isaac Ampurira became the last with a total number of 111 Votes with a percentage of 25% whereas Two (2) Votes were counted valid having been found folded together an indicator that they might have been ticked by one person since they all had one Candidate ticked among the Contestants.
Addressing the Students Body, The Dean of Students UCU-BBUC Rev. Robertson Peter Agaba thanked the Electoral Commission of UCU-BBUC for organizing a peaceful election and called upon the Losers of Today’s Elections not to lose hope because as University Students they are Professionals in Making and in transition and thereafter a need to remain acting and behaving in a peaceful manner.
The Chairman Electoral Commission UCU-BBUC Mr. Gerald Irimaso noted with concern a low turn up of voters with a total of 1000 Ballot Papers printed, 753 Students validated on Semester and expected to vote today but only 451 Votes were registered by the Commission. However he attributed the Low turn up of voters to lack of Moral by the Campaigns held by the Candidates by emphasizing that they didn’t hit the ground as they expected.
This Year’s UCU-BBUC GUILD Elections were dominated by the Faculty of Education with all the Contestants doing the Course of Bachelor’s of Education, BAED and all of the in Year Two Semester One.
