Unique Sports Academy were crowned as Champions of Kigezi Women Football Tournament Open Category for the Seventh time in Ten Years since the Tournament started in 2025.

The Tournament was played Yesterday for its tenth edition in Kabale Municipal Stadium in Kigongi Cell Central Division Kabale Municipality, under the organization and visionary Leadership of Madam Diana Nkamusiima. Unique Sports Academy emerged as winners after a goalless draw at Full time against Young Talents Sports Academy and won 3 : 1 on Penalty shootouts.

Full of Jubilations, The Head coach of Unique Sports Academy Coach Vianney Turyakira Expressed his sense of Joy together with his Players for working hard to see that his Club wins the Trophy again today. ” I am happy to win this trophy for the Seventh time since the Tournament started and I am proud of players because no coach can be successful without the efforts of Players. ” Coach Vianney said in a Post match Conference.

Besides the Coach’s interview, The Club Captain of Unique Sports Academy Diana Tukamushaba also told us how enthusiastic and happy she is because of today’s results. ” This is a step forward to our career as Footballers of this club, Personally I want to play Professional Football and cross Ugandan boarders like Joanitah Ainembabazi who started here but now is playing for Simba Football Club in Tanzania.” Captain Diana speaking about their win today and it’s significance within their Camp.

Speaking as the Guest of Honour after the final game, The Chief Executive Officer Gracevilla Girls Foundation Mrs Ruth Ndyabahika Kendegye appraised Madam Diana Nkamusiima as a pillar for the growth and development of a girl child in Kigezi Region and Uganda at large through Sports and particularly Football, ” Your success in developing talents of girls in the region is a culmination of Hard work and resilience. ” Ruth Ndyabahika said.

The Tournament also hard a category of Under 12 Girls which saw Obumwe Sports Academy also crowned as Champions of that Category after defeating Young Talents Academy U12 in the final game by 2 : 0 .
