President Museveni has praised Diocese of Kigezi for their Continuous efforts to Eradicate Poverty among the People they Serve.

The President of the Republic of Uganda General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appreciated Diocese of Kigezi for focusing on the Gospel of healing the Sick, feeding the poor and fighting poverty among the people they serve.

President Museveni thanked them today at St.Peter’s Rugarama Cathedral Northern Division Kabale Municipality represented by the State Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives in Charge of Industry Hon. David Bahati. Museveni said that the Church can be a tool for Socio-economic transformation through embracing Agriculture, Industrialization, Information Communication and Technology and Job Creation. President Museveni further emphasized that development is a collective effort but wealth and richness is for Individuals and families

While Preaching during the Thanksgiving Service, The Archbishop of the Anglican Province of Rwanda, Rt. Rev. Laurent Mbanda has called Upon Christians to always live a committed reasonable life through expressing his Grace of what he has done for them in their day to day lives.

He explained that he grew up from a refugee Camp in Burundi during his early Childhood ages but now he is the Archbishop. He further reminded Christians to always thank God because they have a lot of testimonies to thank God for and be committed to him and live a renewed life by not comforting to the standards of this world. He Contributed Uganda Shillings 40 Million and thanked Bishop Gaddie Akanjuna for this great work and for teaching them such works of development.

Bishop Gaddie Akanjuna thanked the President for Gracing their Occasion through Hon. Minister David Bahati and pledged Cooperation between the Government and the Church and that the Church will continue spreading the Government’s message of Development such as Parish Development Model and the Diocesean Programs like growing of Hass Ovacado for boosting household incomes.

The President has contributed Cash amount of Ugx 150 Million Shillings as the Bishop’s Development Fund raised a total amount of Ugx 1.245 Billion Shillings towards the construction of a Mall for helping the Doicese’s Income Status of Ugx 3 Billion Shillings in a period of one and a half years.
