Minister Musasizi calls Local Authorities to Champion Alignment of National Budget NDPs for Fostered Economic Growth in Kigezi Region.

The State Minister of Finance Planning and Economic Development in charge of General Duties Hon. Henry Musasizi Ariganyira has called for alignment of the National Budget National Development Progragrams of the ten- fold growth strategy as a key factor for fostering Economic growth from USD50Bn to USD500Bn by 2040.

Minister Musasiziade the remarks at Agaba Center Hotel in Kigongi ward Central Division Labale Municipality during the Annex 2 Programme for the Local Government Budget Consultative Workshops for Financial Year 2025-26. He clearly explained that actualization of Agro-industrialization, Tourism Development, Mineral Development including Oil and Gas and Science and Technology and Innovation including ICT.

Minister Musasizi further indicated this can be implemented and achieved through value-chain umbrella associations in rural and peri-urban areas, Implementing of of sustainable waste management and land use programmes, Formalizing of artisanal mining activities in liason with Ministry of Energy, and Mineral Development and maintaining of Parish Development Information Management System.

During the same Budget Consultative Workshop, The Minister, Hon. Musasizi clearly told the Congregation that the Budget for the Financial Year 2025-26 shall be financed using our domestically generated resources as well as external resources in consideration of the reduced external financing and that emphasis will be put on strengthening our Domestic revenue Mobilization Strategy.

The realization of the Domestic Revenue Mobilization strategy will be achieved through repurposing the resources in the current budget and improve allocate efficiency, to focus on the high impact sectors of the economy, Effective Implementation of the Domestic Revenue Mobilization Strategy, Enhancing Local Revenue performance through automation of systems, Incentivize diversification of Private capital to balance government securities vis-a-vis other forms of private finance and Leveraging affordable and sustainable financing through adequate capitalization of Uganda Development Bank.
