Land slides Claims Two Lives in Kabale District.

The territorial police in Kabale have registered an incident of landslides that claimed two lives. This was on the  29/10/2024 at around 3 am at Rwamacumu Kasheregyenyi parish, Kamuganguzi sub county Kabale district.

The victims are; Charles Tayebwa 18 years old, a casual worker resident of Rwamacumu cell, Kamuganguzi sub county in Kabale district and Bosco a shamba boy estimated to be 17 years, is of Rwandese nationality.

It’s alleged that, on 29/10/2024 at around 0300hrs at Rwamacumu village, land with rocks slid into the house of Agrey Rukundo, damaged it and buried the two persons who were sleeping therein dead on spot.

The area chairperson Abraham Nuwagaba informed area Officer in Charge Kamuganguzi who also notified the District Police Commander and the district Criminal Investigation Department officer led a team to the scene. 

According to the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson Assistant Supretendant of Police Elly Maate said that, The scene was visited, processed and documented, efforts were made and the deceased persons were extracted from the rocks. Postmortem was done and handed over to relatives for burial arrangements.
