The First game of Group C of the 2024-25 Uganda University Pepsi League between Kabale University and YMCA has ended in a goalless draw after 90 Minutes of normal Play.

The game which started at 4 pm was played at Kabale University Playground at Kikungiri Hill Southern Division Kabale Municipality. With both teams portraying a fair performance, The Hosts, Kabale University exhibited a poor performance in the First half of the game with no attempt at the opponent’s goal posts but later gained momentum in the second half where it made several attempts in the opponent’s 18 Yard Box with Five (5) of them on target at least.

While the Visitors YMCA dominated the first half most with an excellent football possession, distribution and passing in the Hosts’ half side and box, they didn’t score many goals except Vianney Benon Kigenyi’s goal which was cancelled by the second Linesman on condition of being in an off side position.

According to the Head coach of Kabale University Farouq Nsubuga attributed the failure to get all the three points on a home ground to players being new to the University Club and League and his tactical decision of keeping the best players for second half. But he promised for better results in the upcoming games because as a coach and his technical staff they handle every game differently.

YMCA’s Head coach Allan Katwe also said that he is not happy with the results because he expected his players to do better but emphasized this was the result for today following the lapses encountered by his players and the many chances they failed to capitalize on and convert them that would have made them to win the game. He further attributed their failure to get all the three points for being on an away ground.

Kabale University’s next game will played on 3rd October, against St. Lawrence University as they continue with their quest for good results in the Uganda University Pepsi League having failed to make it to the Knock out stages in the last campaign of the University League.
