Kabale University has Launched a Health Fitness Club Aimed at Boosting the Health Status of their Employees and Staff.

Kabale University’s Deputy Vice Chancellor in Charge of Finance and Administration Professor Anna Bwengye Katabaazi Launched a Health Fitness Club for Improving the Health Status of the University Staff Members and Employees.

Professor Katabaazi launched the Health Fitness Club Yesterday evening at the University Playground at Kikungiri Hill in Southern Division Kabale Municipality. She applauded the necessity for having such a club in the University setting by saying that it will help their Employees to keep fit and enjoy the benefits of the Financial savings after retirement rather using them touring many Hospitals treating their lives because some diseases can prevented through regular exercising and that your health is wealth.

Professor Katabaazi further explained that such clubs foster good working relationships between employees of the same organization. She told the University Congregation that some people fear to approach others even in times when they need help but fail to consult because of ranks according to the University hierarchy of Leadership saying that now the Staff members interact freely hence easing the mode of operation and service delivery.

According to the Human Resource Officer of Kabale University who doubles as the Chairman of the newly Launched Kabale University Health Club Madam Jackie said that the initiative started from a retreat that the Administrative Staff attended in Jinja Cival Service College and they learnt that when your not fit health wise you can’t even work especially for Administrators who spend a lot of time sitted and decided to start a routine of doing physical exercises three times a week as part and parcel of boosting their health status in regards to the Circular written by the Ministry of Public Service in order to overcome incidents where Government Employees die without receiving medication from Health facilities.

The Launching Activity led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Finance and Administration Professor Anna Bwengye Katabaazi, started with samples of aerobics and a friendly football match between Kabale University Staff and The University 8th Guild Leadership that ended in a draw of 2 : 2 .
