Kabale Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary Stranded with Bodies of Two (2) Unidentified Men Lynched to Death over Suspected Motor vehicle Theft.
The territorial police in Kabale are investigating circumstances under which two an unidentified male adults were lynched to death.
This was on the 26/09/2024 at around 8 : 30 am at Kaliba village Kaharo parish, Kaharo sub county in Kabale district. It’s alleged that, in the night of 25/09/2024 some three (3) persons at the Kabaraga hill stole from a motor vehicle ( lorry) in motion and they waited for the means of transportation with their stolen property up to around 7 : 30 am hours, when the local people became suspecious of them. When the local people tried to interview them, they failed to account for their being in Kabaraga and could not explain about the property they were in possession. They opted to run away from them. The locals ran after them, got two (2) of them from kaliba village and beat them to death.
The Officer in charge of Kaharo Police station upon receiving the information, he registered the case of murder by mob and immediately informed the district CID officer Kabale who responded to the scene with Kabale homicide team and the district Soco.
The two bodies were retrieved from the scene and taken to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for examination. People are here by warned from stealing from trucks in motion because they risk being dealt with in accordance with the law.
According to the Kigezi regional Police Spokesperson Assistant Supretendant of Police Elly Maate appealed to the Public that, Any person missing their dear one should go to the hospital mortuary so that they can identify them and taken for a decent burial. as Inquiries are underway.
