Kabale District Local Government has Passed a Supplementary Budget Amounting to UGX 601,925,622/- for the Financial Year 2024-25.

Kabale District Council has passed a Supplementary budget amounting to UGX 601,925,622/- under the regulation 25(1) of the Local Governments Financial and Accounting regulations of 2007.

The motion to pass this supplementary budget was moved by Hon. Bridget Asinga Secretary Finance, Planning, Adminstration, Works and Technical service yesterday during the First Council meeting for Financial Year 2024-25 at the District headquarters at Makanga Hill Central Division Kabale Municipality. The money passed in the supplementary included 28,770,205 for development activities, 37,002,462 for Extension Development to cater for development activities, 296,775,498 un spent balances to cater for procurement of micro-scale irrigation kits, 7,709,168 un spent balances to cater for rentention payment of staff house at Karujanga Health Center III, 121,703,166 un spent balances to cater for rentention payment of facilities at Kakomo SSS and Rukore High School and 109,767,123 un spent balances to cater for construction of Karujanga GFS ( Extension of Water to upgraded Karujanga Health Center III).

The District Council also passed a recommendation by the committee to have a private Land surveyor to open the boundaries of Land at former remand home and district plots in Kabale Municipal Council staff quarters since there is a lot of contradicting information. And That Engineers should share BOQs with the stakeholders before commencement of all the project works for proper accountability.

The District Council further passed another recommendation on solid ( plastics) waste management by proper disposal recycling and incineration as recommended by the committee of Natural Resources, Trade, Industry and Local Development on 20th August, 2024 under the Leadership of Hon. Baker Turyamureeba, Chairperson Committee.
