Diocese of Kigezi Celebrates Divine Harvest as Bishop Gaddie Akanjuna Ordains 21 Priests and Seven (7) Deacons at Rugarama Cathedral.
The Bishop of Diocese of Kigezi Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna has today ordained 21 Priests and Seven (7) of the Anglican Church, at St. Peter’s Cathedral Rugarama, Northern Division Kabale Municipality.
Bishop Ankanjuna has thanked God for the new servants in the Vineyard of God saying that they have come at the time when the Diocese has lost six (6) servants who were still active and serving in various Churches within the Diocese.
The newly ordained Priests and Deacons are; Frank Twikirize, Rev Dickson Otin Tukamushaba, Rev Junior Tugumisirize, Rev Stephenson Anyorekyire, Rev Deborah Tukamushaba, Rev Warren Akatwijuka, Rev Timmothy Niwamanya among others.
While Preaching during the Ordination Service, The Archdeacon of St. Barnabas Nkoma Rwamwanja Archdeaconary in East Reenzori Diocese Rev. Can. Erasto Nemeyimana has called upon the newly Ordained Priests and Deacons to focus on Fulfilling the Ministry of God who has called them to serve him and cautioned them against romour mongers among the flock of God who will be calling the Bishop anytime when things don’t go well in the Ministry, But encouraged them to stand firm because they have been anointed by the Holy Spirit who will enable them to serve God’ s Flock deligently.
Rev. Can. Ndemeyimana further reminded them to love their Ministry and protect their souls against all evil and serve the People of God through living an examplary life. He also told them to learn more about praying and live a prayerful life for them to be able to use their positions to advocate for the Anglican Church.
During the same Ordination service, Bishop Akanjuna fully bid fare well to the retiring Clergy who have served in Diocese of Kigezi for more than 30 Years He encouraged them to keep supporting the new Clergy who have replaced them in the areas where they will be retiring from and they included James Bashabeomwe, Godfrey Twesiime, Johnson Mushabe, Christopher Tugumeahabwe, Laban Mugisha and many others.
Giving the speech on behalf of Government Leaders, The Rubanda District Woman Member of Parliament who is also a Commissioner of Parliament Hon. Prossy Mbabazi Akampurira has pledged support to the Clergy in their Ministry and urged them to support the Government in fulfilling their work pf developing the people of God by adding the Gospel of Poverty eradication after the Gospel of Jesus Christ by emphasizing that there is no Government when there is no church. She further reminded parents to take their children to school ahead of the opening of the third term of Education.
