Coach Ahamada Sunday Declared as the Coach of the Year 2024 for Ankole Cup as Rubirizi District were Crowned as Champions of the Land.
Rubirizi district Football Coach Ahamada Sunday has been declared as the Best Coach of the Year in Ankole District Cup 2024 as Rubirizi district were crowned as Champions of the 3rd Edition of Ankole region after defeating Ibanda district by 1 : 0.
Coach Sunday who is a Confederation of African Football, CAF C License holder won the trophy with Rubirizi district yesterday following his good run with Rubirizi district U16 football club in the Primary schools National games last year, He also took Bunyaruguru Tigers Football Club to the Western Regional League Play offs and Ndekye Senior Secondary School to a regional level. Currently he is the head coach for Ryakasinga Che Football Club and Rubirizi district Football team.
Rubirizi district won Ibanda district on finals yesterday by 1 : 0 having reached the final after eliminating Ntungamo district in Semi finals on a 3 : 2 goal aggregate in a home and away play off and Ibanda reached the final after eliminating Sheema district on a 1 : 0 goal aggregate in the Semi finals too following also a home and away play off. And the two teams were playing the final round of the tournament for the first time since the Tournament started.
Football fans and supporters who turned up to watch the game at Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara City, all praised Coach Sunday as a very talented Coach, well disciplined, God fearing, hardworking and a man who loves football. They also credited him for using home based and grown talents which has facilitated coordination among players hence deliverance of good results throughout the entire tournament.
