Catholics have been called upon to resist against putting much effort on earthly things but rather to focus on spiritual life because earthly life has a destiny but spiritual life is eternal.

This call was made by Rev. Fr. Silverio Twinomugisha a Formator at St. Paul’s Seminary Rushoroza today at Christ the King Catholic Parish in Kabale Municipality during the Commemoration Mass of the Feast Day of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. He said that it’s a shame to visit a Catholic family and you find no symbol of faith such as pictures of the Blessed Virgin Mary but you find calendar charts of footballers of European Football Clubs all over in the sitting rooms.

Fr. Twinomugisha explained that Mother Mary must be taken as a great pillar of the church following his Canonization on 01st November, 1950. He preached that the 12 Stars of the crown on the head of Mary represent the 12 disciples of of Jesus Christ, 12 tribes of Israel and the present tribe of the Roman Catholic Church. And that the Catholic Church gets stronger in crisis times than in the peaceful times.

In the same Sacrifice of Mass Fr. Twinomugisha further asked Catholics to pray for the People of Kiteezi in Kampala who were hit by the catastrophe of garbage heaps and all those affected by floods and other natural calamities in this rainy season, who are now homeless and helpless.
