Catholics Have Been Urged to Open their Ears and Hear the Voice of God as Legionaries of Kabale Diocese Marks 75 Years of Diamond Jubilee.

Catholics within Kabale Diocese have been urged to open their ears and hear the voice of God and be nearer to the scattered and the helpless and help them to know how God performs miracles through their neighbours by telling them words of encouragement.

The call has been made by the Rector of Rushoroza Cathedral Parish Rev. Fr. Austen Christmas today at Our Lady of Good Shepherd Rushoroza Cathedral Parish during the Celebration Mass of marking 75 Years of Diamond Jubilee of Legion of Mary in Kabale Diocese. He emphasized living a prayerful life by Legionaries as the only way they will succeed in their Christian Ministry and Mission. He also thanked the Legionaries for their hard work towards their mission especially visiting the sick in their socities, but reminded them to work hard on top of their mission in order to live improved standards of living which will enable to fulfill their mission.

While Addressing the Congregation after the Sacrifice of Mass, The Spiritual Director for Kabale Diocese Legia who doubles as the Chaplain for Nyakibaale Health Institute Rev. Fr. Balthazar Ndyomugabe said that According to the Holy Father Pope St.John Paul II in his address of Italian Legionaries on 30th October, 1982 which is quoted in the Legion of Mary Hand Book on Page five (5) said that the Pope said ” Your are the movement of Lay People who propose to make faith the aspiration of your life up to the achievement of Personal Sanctity. Your proper vocation to be a leaven in the people of God, a christian inspiration in the modern world and to bring the Priest to the people eminently ecclesial. ” acknowledging that there has been a great spiritual work done by Legion of Mary within Kabale Diocese.

According to the President of Legion of Mary for Kabale Diocese Emmanuel Akatwizira thanked those who received the Legia when it first arrived in the country most especially those in Kabale Diocese led by the Bishops of the Diocese up to the current Bishop Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira and all the Clergy of Kabale Diocese who have tirelessly continued to work towards the Continuous Evangelization about the work of the Legion of Mary Movement within the Diocese.

The Legion of Mary Movement started on 24th August, 1949 in Nyakibaale Parish untill today when it’s in all Parishes that make up Kabale Diocese hence it’s celebration of 75 Years of Diamond Jubilee since its first inception within the Diocese
