Boona Bagagahare Nyekundire Group Distributes 400 Mattresses in Ntungamo District as a Measure of Giving back to the Rural People.

NTUNGAMO-Boona Bagaigahare Nyekundire Group South Western Uganda, has started distributing 400 mattresses to vulnerable groups in different districts of South Western Uganda.

Boona Bagaigahare Nyekundire Group South Western Uganda is headed by Peace Rugambwa.

Speaking on Saturday at Peace Rugambwa’s home in Ntungamo District, Ms Busingye Mangyeri, the Vice Chairperson of Boona Bagaigahare Nyekundire Group said that the mattresses will be distributed in different areas of Kabale, Rukiga, Kisoro and Ntungamo among other districts.

Ms Mangyeri commended Peace Rugambwa, the Chairperson of Boona Bagaigahare South Western Uganda for the donation, adding that “we condemn those fighting this project and we cancel all their programs in God’s name. Thanks for remembering the rural people Madam Peace”.Mr Sabiiti Rubegyemera, the Chairperson of Ntungamo District Boona Bagaigahare Nyekundire Group said “ today (Friday), we received a consignment of 400 mattresses, a donation from Peace Rugambwa, the Chairperson of Boona Bagaigahare South Western Uganda and it will be distributed to the needy and the older people “.Mr Rubegyemera said that they recently received beans and onions seeds, among other items with the aim of boosting the house income of the residents because may people are still living in poverty.

Ms Loy Tibemanya, the Chairperson of Rukiga District Boona Bagaigahare Nyekundire Group, and a resident of Muhanga Town Council, says that“Am so pleased and very happy for what happened today, to receive 400 mattresses from Peace Rugambwa, the Chairperson of Boona Bagaigahare, which will be shared to old people who are members of Boona Bagaigahare and we are very happy. We are proud of you Peace Rugambwa and President Yoweri Museveni for the developments you are bringing to our communities,” Ms Tibemanya saidShe said “in Rukiga, we are about 4000 members and we urge members of the public to join Boona Bagaigahare to ensure that no one is left behind”.

Ms Aidah Twinobusingye, the Chairperson of Disciplinary committee of Boona Bagaigahare Nyekundire Group South Western Uganda, also commended Peace Rugambwa for remembering the disadvantaged rural people most especially the old, the young and everyone.

“ I thank her so much for working with President Museveni to improve the lives of our people. Recently I was here, she brought 200 mattresses, 150 blankets and bed sheets and today we are receiving 400 mattresses. Thank you Peace for the good things you are doing and may God bless you abundantly” she addedThe programmes under Boona Bageigahare Nyekundeire Group was launched in Ntungamo by President Yoweri Museveni’s young brother, Gen Caleb Akandwanaho aka Salim Saleh, in 2016 during a function attended by delegates from all districts.

Officials from Naads, the Microfinance Support Centre, MPs, and district chairpersons were part of the launch.The group now has registered members from Rukungiri, Kanungu, Rubanda, Rukiga, Kisoro, Kabale, Ntungamo, Mbarara, Mitooma, Sheema, Bushenyi, Kiruhura, Isingiro among other districts. The group initially promoted onion farming.

Members were given seedlings and farm animals such as pigs and goats.However, group which its members said is changing their live hoods is meeting stiff resistance from top political leaders mostly in Rukungiri district.
