Bishop Kayeye calls for Upgrading of AICM to a Degree Awarding Institution at the Celebration of 40 Years of Existence of the Institution.
The founding Director of African International Christian Ministries,AICM Bishop Emeritus Enock Kayeye has called upon National Council for Higher Education for upgrading the Institution from a Certificate and Diploma awarding Institution to a Degree awarding Institution.
Bishop Kayeye made the call today while addressing Parents, students and well wishers of the institution at the institution premises in Rushambya cell Southern Division Kabale Municipality at the graduation of 360 students in various courses such as industrial Art, Plumbing, Catering and many others as the Institution marked 40 years of existence and deliberate service to the African Society. He also called upon National Council for Higher Education to support Private institutions of Learning so that they can continue serving the people of Uganda efficiently especially the less previleddged in the rural parts of the country.
Speaking at the same function as the Guest of honour Professor Charles Kwesiga asked graduates never to lose hope and to be alert to opportunities around them in addition to working hard to utilize any opportunity that comes their way by saying that ” he who controls the past controls the future and he who controls the present controls the past” following his narration on how he survived persecution of the military people under President Idi Amin’s reign.
The function was also attended by some alumni of the institution led by the Kabale district Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Catherine Atwakyire Ndamira who advised graduates to feel proud of their institution because it has added value to them. She further urged them to extend their horizons through upgrading their studies and acquire Degrees and Masters because the Environment we are living and working from requires a lot of Competition.
African International Christian Ministries, AICM has been praised for lifting up the less privileged people like the Batwa people in Kisoro and Rubanda districts to a level of also acquiring education status, economic growth and other activities of development within their areas.
