Bishop Gaddie Akanjuna calls for Vigilance Upon Children in the Vacation Season in a Thanksgiving Service for the Church Tower that has raised Uganda Shillings 16,428,700/- .
The Bishop of Diocese of Kigezi Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna has called for viligance upon Children who are in the Vacation season by their Parents in order to keep them in good shape and morals as a way of moulding their Future.
The Bishop made the call today at St. Peter’s Cathedral Rugarama in Rugarama Ward Northern Division Kabale Municipality during the Thanksgiving Service of raising funds for the Church Tower at St Peter’s Cathedral Rugarama Church. Preaching in the same Service, The Bishop of Diocese of Kigezi Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna asked Parents to look after their Children who are vacists now especially those who have finished Primary Leaving Examinations, PLE, Uganda Certificate of Education, UCE and those looking forward to finishing the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education, UACE in the forthcoming weeks that are starting tomorrow. He told them that by giving these children what to will make them busy throughout this vacation season hence protecting them from meandering all the town when they learn and involve. themselves in acts of immorality and misbehaviour.
Bishop Akanjuna further reminded the Congregation that they must be good keepers of God’s belongings all the time through giving, preaching the Gospel and serving the needy like Jesus Christ himself washed the feet of his Disciples as a sign of service to them, But this calls them to first leave the earthly desires alone and follow Jesus Christ like the Fishermen heard the voice of Jesus Christ and left all their belongings and followed him for the service of God which is Evangelization.
The Rubanda District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Prossy Akampurira Mbabazi Begumisa who doubles as a Parliamentary Commissioner asked the congregation to desist from showbizzing what they have given to God through Churches during the Thanksgiving Service that has raised a total of Uganda Shillings 16,428,700/- and 20 Bags of Cement in a continuous effort to add to what had collected before in the Earlier Fundraising functions. She emphasized that if when we don’t tell the general public what we have given to God through Churches, The Almighty God already knows because he is the giver of all that we have and possess on this Earth. She also made a contribution of Uganda Shillings 3,000,000/- Cash.
The Thanksgiving function which was was attended by a number of dignitaries including The Head of Laity for Diocese of Kigezi Canon Johnson Baryantuma Munono, The Dean of St. Peter’s Cathedral Rugarama Rev. Can. Obed Turihohabwe, The Head of Clergy Rev. Can. Lauben Byomuhangi and many others.
