A 25 Years Old Man Kills his Sibling Over Food Quarrels in Rubanda District.
The territorial police in Rubanda are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 35 years old man Deus Muhereza a resident of Mukaziniro trading center, who was allegedly murdered by his biological brother Gerevazio Kamugisha alias Kaboy 25 years old of Birara cell Muyanje ward Bubare Town council Rubanda district.
It is alleged that the deceased and the suspect are biological brothers and their both parents are mentally sick and the deceased was the one who was taking care of them.That yesterday (20/10/2024), the deceased went to check on the parents as usual having food ( posho and beans) greeted them and the brother (suspect) later proceed to prepare for them. That the two brothers picked a quarrel where by the suspect was blaming his brother for why he is always taking posho rather than rice. The Suspect picked a small hoe which was in the compound and hit the brother to death.
After awhile, the father came out of the house and found the deceased lying in a pool of blood and the suspect seated next to the body. The father went and notified the locals who went and arrested the suspect and handed him over to Kabale police station.
The police officers of Kabale informed Rubanda police, a case of murder was registered under CRB 401/2024, at Rubanda police and the scene was visited.The exhibit of a hoe was recovered at the crime scene, postmortem was done and the suspect was picked at Kabale police station to Rubanda.
According to the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson Assistant Supretendant of Police Elly Maate said that, The suspect has just been released from Ndorwa prison after serving ten months on charges of malicious damage and possession of Marijuana. As Inquiries are at hand.
