The territorial Police in Kabale are hunting for a 19 years old Nicholas Niwagaba allegedly for the murder of his biological father Darius Turamyomwe 52 years a resident of Omumihanga village Kitumba sub county Kabale district.

It’s alleged that on the 18/12/2024 at around 10;pm while at his home, the deceased was attacked and assaulted by his own son his second born aged 19 years who wanted part of the deceased’s land but only to be informed by the father now the deceased that what he has is his and since he is mature, should leave his home and start his own. The wife to the deceased one Kyarimpa Peragia who had gone to the trading centre came back home and found her husband lying down in their sitting room with blood oozing from the mouth and his head swollen and informed her that was beaten up by the son Niwagaba Nicholas and she called the neighbour one Christopher who helped to take the deceased to Kabale referral hospital where he was admitted but yesterday the 20/12/2024 at around 5 : 30 pm, they returned home only for the victim to pass on at around 3 pm of today the 21/12/2024.

Police were informed by the area chairperson Patrick Tumuranze, scene was visited, processed and documented, relatives statements were obtained and body retrieved back to Kabale referral hospital for postmortem and the hunt for the suspect commenced.

According to the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson Assistant Supretendant of Police Elly Maate said that, It’s very paterbing for a person to kill his own parent over an issue they should have sorted out amicably.Whoever knows his whereabouts, should alert the police so that he is brought to book.
