Students and pupils are urged to prioritize values and morals in their lives
Students and pupils have been called upon to put values and morals at the fore front of their lives in order to attain success in their Academic Journey and their earthly life.
This call was made by the Rector of St. Paul’s Seminary Rushoroza Rev. Fr. Augastine Tumushime today at our Lady of Good Shepherd Rushoroza Cathedral Parish during the sacrifice of Mass in commemoration of St. Maria Goretti the patron saint of St. Maria Goretti Nursery and Primary school and the Secondary school. He explained that they must embrace some level of shyness in their lives as a way of avoiding shame that may result from compromising their values and morals by engaging in acts of immoralities such as fornication.
Fr. Tumushime further called upon the Parents and old students of these two sister schools to work hard towards creating and upbringing of a generation of children which has values of life particularly discipline and God fearing. He emphasized that this will help to curb vices among the children who ask for money to facilitate scholastic materials and activities which do not exist for example those who ask money for photosynthesis because their parents are illiterate.
Speaking at the same event the Kabale Diocesan Education Secretary Remigio Byamukama asked parents to pay much attention to the boy child who is becoming completely nothing and useless to the society. He said that there is a continuos decline in the number of boys graduating in Universities compared to that of girls which is increasing everyday.
In the same sacrifice of Mass 60 pupils have received the Sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time as part of their spiritual wealth just like St. Maria Goretti was , spiritually rich but materially poor.
