The Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs in the Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has strongly criticized the divisive politics of animosity and internal strife among politicians, which she argues are impeding ONC’s efforts in promoting wealth creation campaigns in Rukiga District.

She emphasizes that such behaviors not only obstruct development but also hamper the implementation of government programs, warning that if left unchecked, they will perpetuate poverty and hinder progress in Uganda.

Namyalo expressed her concerns during an event held on Friday where she served as the guest of honor at the distribution of various self-help items to residents of Rukiga District at Kantare Playground in Kantare Village, Rutengye Parish, Kasyambya Sub County.

During the distribution, 700 organized groups received items such as hair dryers, sprayers, sewing machines, and bricklaying machines, aimed at empowering residents to start or enhance their small businesses and elevate household incomes.

Her criticism stemmed from the apparent segregation in acknowledging dignitaries at the function. She was particularly dismayed to witness several leaders recognizing certain dignitaries while neglecting Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe Tumuhairwe, the Deputy Managing Director of Finance and Corporate Strategy at the National Water and Sewerage Corporation, who was the principal sponsor of the event. Namyalo cautioned attendees against politicizing the occasion.

Furthermore, Namyalo cautioned political leaders that the Office of the National Chairman is apolitical, revealing that she had received numerous discouraging phone calls regarding her visit to Rukiga District. She reminded those opposed to development that while they may attempt to obstruct progress, they cannot halt it.

She emphasized that the resources were directly provided by President Yoweri Museveni, who also serves as the NRM National Chairman, the First Lady Maama Janet Museveni, and well-wishers including Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe, as part of the ongoing initiative to eradicate poverty across Uganda.

Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe, in her remarks, urged residents to embrace the ideology of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party, promoting values such as patriotism, Pan-Africanism, socio-economic transformation, and democracy. She encouraged unity and development to foster a better Uganda.
