Kabale University Graduates 1,387 Students at Eighth Graduation Ceremony, 53 Attain First Class Degrees

A total of 53 students have attained First Class Degrees as 1,387 graduate today at the eighth edition graduation function of Kabale University on Kikungiri in Kabale Municipality.

The Graduation Function which started at 10 am today morning had students from 10 Faculties of Education Disciplines offered at Kabale University that included School of Medicine, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Engineering, Technology, Applied Design and Fine Art, among others. Ruth Asiimwe a student of Bachelor’s of Business administration emerged as the overall best performing student with a CGPA of 4.87.

Speaking at the confermention of various degrees to students in his address of the University congregation the Chancellor of Kabale University Professor George Mondo Kagonyera applauded the graduates to put soft skills like discipline at the fore front of their professions on top of the core skills they have acquired from the different courses they have been pursuing.

Speaking as the guest speaker of the function the outgoing Chancellor of Makerere University Professor Ezra Suruma cautioned the graduates to avoid corruption and it’s related evils such as Embezzlement which tarnishes the value of the qualifications they have attained and the ethical codes of conduct of their professions, trying to attain wealth in the quickest possible time.

The guest of honour who also doubles as the state Minister for Primary Education Hon. Joyce Kaducu appraised the students of Kabale University for Discipline and called them upon to maintain it through not engaging in acts of drug abuse, alcoholism and sexual immorality as soon as they go in various employment sectors of the world.

The Vice Chancellor of Kabale University Professor Joy Kwesiga thanked all the Universities stakeholders for working hand in hand for this success. She also rallied Parents to bring other children because the University is looking forward to giving them quality education through improved research by buying an advanced machine which will facilitate innovation among students.
