Kabale District Parliamentarians, Hon. Wilfred Nuwagaba and Hon. Catherine Ndamira Applauds Residents to Embrace National Identity Card Registration.

Kabale District Parliamentarians have cautioned Parents to ensure registration of their Children for National Identity Cards, IDs as an important item for them to access Government Services in various places they go to.

Speaking to the Congregation of Holy Family Buhara Catholic Parish today in a Confirmation Mass of 430 Young Boys and Girls into the Catholic Faith led by the Vicar General of Kabale Diocese Msgr. John Vianney Sunday representing the ordinary Bishop of Kabale Diocese Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, The Ndorwa East County Member of Parliament Hon. Wilfred Nuwagaba expressed his concern over some Parents who are still taking it lightly. In his address to people said that in the near future a Ugandan without a National Identity Card will face a lot of Challenges when in Public Facilities such as Hospitals while seeking for Medical care and applauded all those whose children have not been registered to hurry up when they still have the chance.

Re-echoing her voice too, The Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament who doubles as the Chief Whip for Parliamentarians of National Resistance Movement, NRM Party Hon. Catherine Atwakyire Ndamira also appealed to them to take good care of Identity documents such as Baptism Cards and National Identity Cards, IDs. After finding one of the Children who was being confirmed carrying a ton and old Baptism card and encouraged them not to hesitate in anyway but to only go for registration of National Identity Cards, IDs. She emphasized that we are working hard for development but development starts with being recognized fully as a citizen of a country.

The Parliamentarians further went ahead and asked the Catholics of Holy Family Buhara Catholic Parish to embrace Education for their Children by taking them to nearby schools such as St. Joseph’s Secondary school Buhara where there’s Scholarship opportunities for need Students provided by Sino Mines Company, a company doing Iron Ore mining in the area as a way of doing Corporate Social Responsibility to Buhara Community.

Sino Mines Company has also agreed to grade and do murraming of a 10 Kilo Meters Rwakyihirwa road and Tarmacking the road from their area of processing to the Sub county Headquarters of Buhara.
