Reckless Driving Claims the Life of a 33 Years Old Man along the Kabale-KisoronHighway.
The police in Rubanda registered a fatal road accident that has claimed the life of a 33 years old Michael Mpakaniye a boda boda rider a resident of Gahunga village Nyakabungo parish Chahi sub county Kisoro district.
This was on the 27/09/2024 at about 2 : 30 pm at Kyimusa “B” village Ihanga parish Bubaare sub county Rubanda district, along Kabale Kisoro highway. Motor vehicles involved are REG.NO UBH310C Isuzu Elf white in color and M/C REG NO UEX266G Bajaj boxer red in color.
It’s alleged that the rider of the above mentioned motor cycle who was traveling from Kisoro to Kabale, recklessly left his lane and there by collided with the Isuzu Elf truck that was traveling from Kabale towards Kisoro, where the rider died on spot and the truck driver commonly known as “Deacon” got injured after the vehicle overturned.The rest of the passengers on the truck escaped unhurt.
According to the Kigezi regional Police Spokesperson Assistant Supretendant of Police Elly Maate said that, The scene was visited and documented Under Rubanda TAR 57/2024 by police, break down was called in and both motor vehicle and motorcycle towed to Rubanda Central Police Station yard pending inspection. As Inquiries are at hand.
