Mbarara City Football Club wins their Last Preparation Game by a Goal to Nil against Kigezi Home Boyz Football Club Ahead of the New Startimes Premier League.
Mbarara City Football Club has emerged as winners of today’s friendly game against Kigezi Home Boyz Football Club by 1 : 0 as the two sides prepare for a new season in both the Startimes Uganda Premier League and Betpawa Fufa Big League respectively.
The only goal which created a difference between the two sides came in the second half of the game courtesy of Jamil Kariisa for Mbarara City Football amidst a tight clash between two giants of the football game in Western region. Both sides looked concentrated which lited the number goals concede by the two sides, And the game was played at Kabale Municipal Stadium.
According to the Head Coach of The Gorillas Dennis Tushabe Alias Kapi also praised his players for a good performance though they lost at the end and attributed the loss to the lapses on the second half which made lose possession and concentration of the ball hence conceding the goal.
According to the Assistant Head Coach of Ankole Lions Basit Ssemuyeba has credited his players for an portraying an outstanding performance against a well prepared football club, The Ghorillas and remarked that the win they have got today on an away ground will act as a benchmark in the first game against the defending Champions SC Villa ahead of the new 2024-25 Startimes Uganda Premier League come next on Monday at the Mandela National Stadium.
The friendly match was also watched by the former Uganda Cranes Footballer David Obua who is invited by Kigezi Home Boyz Football club to do assessment and give technical assistance to the club for improved results having finished in the ninth position last season in the Betpawa Fufa Big League.
