Kirima Police Post in Kanungu District are Investigating the Cause of Death for a 47 Years Old Man.
The territorial Police in Kanungi.dinstrict are investigating circumstances which claimed a life of a 47 years old man Swaleh Bengenzaki of Kyijanga village Rutugunda Parish Kirima.sub county Kanungu district.
It’s alleged that on Sunday 28/07/2024 at about 2 pm at Kyijanga trading center the suspect Ivan Byomuhangi also known as Katama aged 40 years, a Mechanic and also a resident of the same place accused the deceased suspecting him to have stolen his money about Uganda shillings 30,000 from his pocket and later the suspect recovered it from his wife. After the incident he apologized and bought for him a bottle of soda and a stick of roasted meat.
The victim was then rushed.to the nearest drug shop at Kyijanga trading center where he was given treatment and taken home untillon the 31/07/2024at about 10 pm when the situation worsened and on 01/08/2024 at about 3 am he passed away.
According to Kigezi Police regional spokesperson Assistant Supretendant of Police Elly Maate said that the scene of crime was visited and documented, relevant witness statements recorded , the suspect was arrested and detained at Kirima Police Post VIDE SD REF 05/01/08/2024 Under Kanungu CRB/488/2024.The sketch plan of the scene of crime drawn and photos take plus examining the body of the deceased at Kanungu Health Center IV and later it was handed over to relatives for a decent burial.
